Andrew Turner is the CTO at GeoIQ, the company behind GeoCommons, a geospatial visualization and analytics platform. He co-founded Mapufacture, a personalized geospatial search and aggregation system that was acquired by GeoIQ in August 2008 in order to combine real-time feeds with large GIS datasets. Andrew is focused on collaboration and user-generated content around location and time. He is actively involved in open-data projects such as OpenStreetMap and VoteReport, as well as open-source projects like Mapstraction and GeoPress. He regularly speaks at conferences on the benefits of open-source software and geospatial standards to communities and organizations. Andrew wrote the O’Reilly shortcut “Introduction to Neogeography” and “Trends in Where2.0” business report in Spring 2008. He is also published in MacTech and Make magazine on his home-automation hacking.

Previously, Andrew was an aerospace engineer building airships, spacecraft and real-time immersive simulators. He received his B.S in Aerospace Engineering and Computer Science from the University of Virginia and his Masters from Virginia Tech.

Rob is the head of product and engineering for eBay Local, where he is responsible for leading the team in its mission to track the real-time availability of every product, on every shelf, of every store in the world. In his role, Rob spearheads forward-looking projects that continue to blur the line between online and offline commerce while also ensuring that the core of Milo—its data—is always improving.

Rob was previously the VP of Product Development at Milo.com, which was acquired by eBay in December 2010. At Milo, he was involved in strategic projects that included building an improved interface for content availability, implementing distance filters and creating a mobile site. In addition to his technical expertise with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Python, Rob brings with him a background in finance that helped the team pitch to investors and make calculated decisions about the future.

Prior to joining Milo, Rob was a technology analyst at Goldman Sachs. His main project involved conceptualizing and architecting an analytics framework that allowed a development team to quickly build high-level forecasting and summary reports for review by top-level management.

Prior to joining Neustar Lisa ran Peterson Mobility Solutions, LLC, a research and consulting practice that employed subject matter experts to provide strategic planning and analysis, as well as professional services and for the wireless industry, with emphasis on location-based services and mobile data applications. 

Lisa has deep knowledge of the mobile networks and the mobile services ecosystem and has been working with mobile application developers since the early 2000’s.  Most notably, while at Sprint-Nextel, Lisa helped to pioneer the Location Based Services market, by defining product strategy and requirements and working with many early innovators to successfully launch and monetize a wide array of GPS enterprise and consumer applications.  This included bringing the first mobile navigation solution to the US market. 

Lisa is a Ms. Peterson is a subject matter expert in wireless location technologies and is a frequent speaker at many industry conferences, including CTIA.   Ms. Peterson contributed to CTIA’s Wireless Industry Caucus (WIC) committee on LBS Best Practices and Interoperability and authored a report on Location Based Advertising, released in January 2010.

Prior to Nokia, Gary was at Yahoo!, leading their Geo Technologies group in the UK, releasing GeoPlanet and Placemaker and providing the geo heavy lifting for Flickr and Fire Eagle; he’s also been at Digicon, developing geophysical technologies to aid in the search for natural resources and at the European Space Agency Research Institute in Rome, Italy, participating in the development and launch of ERS-1, Europe’s first remote sensing satellite. Outside of the location and geo field, he’s been at companies including the BBC World Service, Reuters, Factiva.com and Network Associates.
