About us

MetaPlaces is brought to you by the team behind Telematics Update:

Thomas Hallauer
Editor, MD

Thomas is a self confessed geek who has an uncanny ability to make cool technology fail him.

Hence the lack of product reviews suffered by Telematics Update along the years recently.

Thomas has been in the location and wireless industry for 8 years having organised more than 20 successful shows on issues ranging from WiMax deployment, fleet management service provision, road charging, eCall, Pure Telematics or LBS

Thomas now heads The WhereBusiness and is responsible for the events and the website.

Osman Iqbal
Navigation and LBS Guru
TheWhereBusiness
osman@thewherebusiness.com

tel:+44 207 375 7196

Since 2007 Osman has concentrated his research in the navigation and LBS worlds. He has written and set up conferences around the world and is still trying to get a Navigation & Location Barbados conference approved - watch this space!

Osman's other pass times include representing Telematics Update in the First Conferences football team and dodging central london traffic when cycling to work.

John Blackley
Sales Director
TheWhereBusiness
T: +44 (0)207 375 7157
E: john@thewherebusiness.com

During the past 5 years John has worked, in some capacity, on majority of the Telematics Update events from 1st time shows all the way up to the flagship Detroit event. Any information required on participation at ANY events organized by Telematics Update or TheWhereBusiness contact him as a first port of call for any help, questions, details or just for a chat. Due to the unappreciated pressure for exhibitors and sponsors heaped on him by his team members.

John spends most of his day with his head in his hands and drinking vast quantities of Red Bull. When not on the phone or pounding his fingers down to stumps by typing endless emails John dreams of winning the lottery and buying an island.
